On December 28, 1970, President Nixon signed into law the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which went into effect on April 28, 1971. Since 1989 across the country, community workers and local government leaders have gathered on April 28 to commemorate those who have lost their lives working to provide a good standard of living for their families and communities.
FCMA, Northeast Florida Safety Council, OSHA & Jacksonville Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers are planning our 4th annual Worker’s Memorial Event for Fri, April 26.
When 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the Northeast Florida Safety Council (1725 Art Museum Drive)
Why: to recognize those workers who have lost their lives in the workplace & bring attention to the importance of job safety.
We hope that you join us as we commemorate the employees lost in 2018.
